BYD Officially Launches in Egypt This June, Unveils Two New Models
Man Dream, the official distributor of BYD vehicles in Egypt, is preparing for the brand's official launch in the Egyptian market this June. The move follows a trial period during which only two models were introduced, as plans to launch a larger lineup at once were postponed in favor of a more gradual rollout.
Two New BYD Models Arriving in June
Khaled Youssef, CEO of Man Dream, confirmed that the company will introduce two new models in Egypt alongside the official brand launch in June. He emphasized that the previous period served as a preparatory phase for BYD's formal entry into the Egyptian market and its public announcement.
BYD Leads Egypt's EV Market
Youssef noted that BYD currently leads the electric vehicle segment in Egypt's automotive market, stressing that the company is executing its long-term strategy. He added that official sales targets have not yet been set, as the company is still in the process of introducing new models. The upcoming lineup is expected to include around six new models in addition to the existing ones.
Expanding to 20 Dealerships by End of 2026
BYD has been actively expanding its presence across various Egyptian governorates by opening high-tech showrooms. The company has already opened a large branch in the Fifth Settlement and another in Abu Rawash, which was inaugurated in March 2026. A third branch is planned in the Fifth Settlement, along with additional locations in Alexandria. Furthermore, 10 sales-only outlets are set to open during June and July 2026, bringing the total number of branches to 20 by the end of the year across different governorates.
Local Assembly of BYD EVs Begins
On another front, BYD plans to assemble its electric vehicles at the factories of MAC for Manufacturing Means of Transport, a subsidiary of El Mansour Automotive in Egypt. The plant is located in the Sixth of October City, with production starting with one electric model, followed by another in the next phase.
