BYD Atto 2 Launches in Egypt for the First Time at EGP 1.35 Million

Mansour Automotive's subsidiary, Man Dream, the local agent for BYD in Egypt, has officially launched the all-new Atto 2 electric SUV at EGP 1.35 million. This marks the compact electric crossover's first entry into the Egyptian market.

Dimensions and Space of the BYD Atto 2

The Atto 2 measures 4,310 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width. 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. Cargo space stands at 400 liters, expandable to 1,340 liters with the rear seats folded. Ground clearance is 165 mm unladen. These figures place it squarely against compact crossovers already on Egyptian roads.

Powertrain and Performance

The Atto 2 uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor with front-wheel drive. A global version delivers 130 kW (177 hp) and 290 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h. The numbers confirm it's built for daily urban use.

The car features BYD's Blade Battery with LFP technology. One version offers a 45.1 kWh battery with 312 km WLTP range, while another packs a 64.8 kWh battery for 430 km. The 118 km gap between them matters for buyers who regularly cover longer distances.

Charging and Market Rollout

The 45.1 kWh version supports fast charging, making it practical for everyday driving. The launch of the BYD Atto 2 is part of the brand's broader expansion in Egypt, where competition in the electric crossover segment is heating up. The EGP 1.35 million price tag puts it in a competitive bracket against imported alternatives.

The new model strengthens BYD's presence in Egypt and gives buyers a fully electric option in the compact SUV class. Its real test will be whether it can attract customers looking for decent range at a reasonable price. Egypt's EV market is moving fast, and the Atto 2 could become one of its key players.
