Bentley Torcal Electric: Merino Wool and 1,000 Layers of Wood Redefine Luxury

Bentley has revealed the first interior details of its all-electric Torcal, set for full unveiling this September. The British marque is showcasing unprecedented materials, including pure Merino wool and recycled walnut wood. The message is clear: luxury no longer means traditional leather.

Merino Wool Built for Daily Abuse

One hundred percent Merino wool enters the Torcal cabin for the first time in automotive history. Bentley developed this fabric with Fox Brothers, the British textile house operating since the 18th century. The result is a car-grade textile that passes the strict durability tests required for luxury vehicles.

The fabric also earned full Responsible Wool Standard certification. Six color options will be available to customers. This signals Bentley's understanding that sustainability is no longer a secondary consideration in modern EVs.

Walnut and Paper: 1,000 Layers of Natural Art

The new Ombre Veneer finish redefines the concept of luxury woodwork. The material is crafted by compressing up to 1,000 layers of sustainable walnut offcuts and recycled paper. After pressing, it's sliced into sheets under one millimeter thick.

The gradient runs from deep black through smoked tones to natural walnut. Bentley transforms what would have been waste into a central design element. This approach differs radically from how most brands handle sustainable materials.

Aluminum Revives Mulliner Heritage

The Sunburst Aluminum finish from the Mulliner personalization division carries clear historical weight. It reinterprets the decorative aluminum dash panels used in Bentley's classic models. The style is undoubtedly more modern, yet it retains the visual identity that defined the marque for decades.
