Zeus Racing Makes History: First Egyptian Team in Dakar Classic 2027

Zeus Racing has announced its participation in the Dakar Classic Rally 2027, becoming the first Egyptian motorsport team to compete in this global event. The announcement came during a press conference hosted by the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club in Cairo. This is no small feat.

Project Details and Preparation Plan

The team revealed its vehicle preparation, technical and physical training, and the logistical and financial challenges involved. The rally car received modifications to its suspension, cooling systems, tires. Wheels, plus an auxiliary fuel tank providing a range of 400 to 450 kilometers. That range is vital for long desert stages.

The team includes Samir Sami Abdel Razek as founder and driver, Alain Bezenson as co-driver, and engineer Moataz Omran Saleh as team manager. Experience is there. But is it enough?

Dakar Classic Challenges: Cars Over 20 Years Old

Samir Sami said his passion for following previous rally editions, especially the Classic category, drove the participation. This category relies on cars over 20 years old and covers distances of 5,000 to 7,000 kilometers over about three weeks. A grueling race. Tough terrain.

Sami explained that preparing the car required extensive planning and testing while preserving its original appearance as much as possible. The team's main goal is to reach the finish line and deliver a performance worthy of Egypt. No exaggerated promises. Just genuine determination.

Alain Bezenson: A Dream Realized Years After Pharaohs Rally

Alain Bezenson, the team's co-driver, said competing in Dakar Classic is a huge dream and challenge. His relationship with rallying began years ago by following the Pharaohs Rally, before he actually participated in the 2004 edition. Experience exists. But the gap between Pharaohs and Dakar Classic is wide.

Egypt's participation in Dakar Classic 2027 could open the door for more Arab teams. Success won't come easy. But the first step has already been taken.
