The US dollar experienced a notable decline against the Egyptian pound during trading on Monday, June 29, 2026, according to the latest data from several public and private banks operating in the local market. This drop comes amid continued improvement in the Egyptian currency's performance, supported by increasing investment inflows into government debt instruments, which bolsters the pound's strength against foreign currencies.

Dollar Rates at Major Egyptian Banks

The dollar recorded a rate of EGP 49.30 for buying and EGP 49.44 for selling at the Central Bank of Egypt, while the National Bank of Egypt quoted the currency at EGP 49.37 for buying and EGP 49.47 for selling. At Banque Misr, the rate stood at EGP 49.37 for buying and EGP 49.47 for selling, whereas the Commercial International Bank (CIB) offered a slightly lower rate of EGP 49.28 for buying and EGP 49.38 for selling, making it one of the most competitive rates in the market today.

Variations Across Islamic and Private Banks

Among specialized banks, Faisal Islamic Bank quoted the dollar at EGP 49.30 for buying and EGP 49.40 for selling, with Al Baraka Bank Egypt posting nearly identical figures at EGP 49.30 for buying and EGP 49.40 for selling. At NXT Bank, the rate reached EGP 49.34 for buying and EGP 49.44 for selling. QNB Al Ahli recorded the dollar at EGP 49.32 for buying and EGP 49.42 for selling, while the Arab African International Bank quoted EGP 49.37 for buying and EGP 49.47 for selling, and Suez Canal Bank posted EGP 49.35 for buying and EGP 49.45 for selling.

Highest and Lowest Dollar Rates in the Egyptian Market

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank topped the list with the highest rates, recording the dollar at EGP 49.55 for buying and EGP 49.65 for selling, making it the most expensive option for purchasers. In contrast, Emirates NBD offered the lowest dollar rate at EGP 49.27 for buying and EGP 49.37 for selling, positioning it as the best choice for buyers seeking the US currency at the lowest cost. This variation in rates across banks reflects a competitive market environment, allowing individuals and businesses to select the most favorable exchange rate to suit their needs.
