Traffic Safety Expert Stresses the Importance of Road Signs and Pavement Markings for Safer Egyptian Roads
Major General Dr. Ayman El-Dabaa, a traffic safety expert, emphasized the importance of expanding the use of road signs, pavement markings, and traffic signals across Egypt's new road network. He stated that these elements are a fundamental part of the overall traffic safety system, helping drivers make the right decisions while driving by providing clear and direct guidance that enhances road safety and improves the driving experience.
Strengthening Traffic Control Measures
According to Dr. El-Dabaa, some roads require additional traffic control measures, particularly in terms of making posted speed limits more visible, updating directional and guidance signs, and improving pavement markings. He explained that these components are essential to a comprehensive traffic safety system and contribute directly to improving the efficiency of the road network.
Clear Information Improves Driver Compliance
He noted that when drivers receive clear and straightforward information on the road, they are better able to comply with traffic regulations and make appropriate driving decisions. Clear road signs, traffic signals, and pavement markings help reduce traffic violations, lower the risk of accidents, and improve overall traffic flow while supporting a safer driving environment for all road users.
Dr. El-Dabaa added that developing the system of road signs, pavement markings, and traffic signals is a natural continuation of the significant achievements already made in the road sector. He said these improvements will enhance the efficiency of the road network and contribute to achieving higher levels of safety for millions of daily road users while supporting a more organized and clearly guided driving environment.
