Traffic Movement Varies Across Cairo and Giza Axes This Morning: Fluidity on Most Roads and Slowdowns at Specific Points
Most of Cairo and Giza's main axes witnessed relative traffic regularity and smoothness this morning, with moving densities and slowdowns at several vital points. This came as a result of increased loads during the morning peak period, with traffic services deployed to ensure citizen safety, facilitate vehicle movement, and guide drivers to alternative routes.
Traffic Situation in Cairo
Traffic flow was smooth on October Bridge and the Martyr Axis, while vehicle movement slowed on the Nile Corniche for those heading from Maspero to the Matlat area. The Ring Road also saw noticeable slowdowns for drivers coming from Zakat Foundation to El Marg. From El Basatin to El Autostrad, and from El Autostrad towards New Cairo and El Tagamoa. But traffic returned to smoothness on Ramses, Ein Shams, Downtown Cairo, Nasr City, New Cairo, Shubra, and El Moasasa axes.
Salah Salem Axis witnessed regularity and smooth flow, with the exception of high densities in front of the Central Agency and Abour Buildings during the morning peak, followed by a traffic relief on El Orouba and Airport Road. Meanwhile, Shubra and El Teraa El Bolakia areas saw smooth flow up to El Amiria and El Wabour.
Traffic Situation in Giza
Vehicle movement was regular in Dokki, Agouza, and Mohandessin areas, except for 26th of July Axis for those coming from the Desert Road towards Lebanon Square. High densities appeared at Sphinx Square and Mostafa Mahmoud Square, while traffic was regular on October areas' axes.
Sheikh Zayed and Wahat Road witnessed smooth flow, while high traffic densities appeared on Faisal axes in El Tawabek area and the intersection of Haram with Mariouteya due to construction works for metro stations in El Talbia, El Eshrin, El Masaha, and Safa El Laban. Traffic services continue to monitor traffic through surveillance cameras connected to the traffic operations room and field services deployed on main axes and squares.
