Egyptian roads are witnessing a notable increase in motorcycle accidents, accompanied by mutual accusations between car and motorcycle drivers. However, traffic safety experts emphasize that the core issue does not lie in the vehicle type but rather in the widespread non-compliance with traffic rules, which turns minor mistakes into tragic incidents.

Expert Warnings on Dangerous Behaviors

Major General Dr. Ayman Al-Dabaa, a traffic safety expert, confirmed that motorcycle drivers frequently complain about the behavior of some car drivers, noting that recent weeks have seen numerous tragic accidents that claimed the lives of many motorcyclists. During his media statements, he explained that the lack of traffic awareness is exacerbating the crisis on the roads.

Motorcycle Traffic Violations

The expert pointed out that delivery service workers, commonly known as "delivery riders," commit serious violations due to the pressure to complete as many orders as possible in the shortest time. This pressure drives them to drive at high speeds, ignore traffic signals, and weave recklessly between vehicles. He added that failing to wear helmets increases the severity of accidents and amplifies injuries.

Compliance with Traffic Rules is Key to Safety

Major General Al-Dabaa stressed that rider safety begins with adhering to fundamental traffic rules, such as respecting speed limits, obeying signals, and wearing protective helmets. He emphasized that these measures are not merely legal obligations but essential factors in protecting lives before avoiding penalties.

The expert also noted that daily complaints are not limited to motorcyclists but extend to car drivers who suffer from the violations of some motorcycle riders. He reaffirmed that the road is a shared right among all users, whether they drive cars, motorcycles, or other means of transport, calling for a culture of mutual respect to ensure a safe traffic environment for everyone.
