The Egyptian Motor Insurance Pool has released detailed data on new passenger car sales in Egypt during June, revealing that a total of 21,144 zero-kilometer vehicles were registered during the month. This marks a modest growth of 1.13% compared to May, which saw 20,908 registrations. The figures indicate continued activity in the Egyptian automotive market, with significant variation in sales distribution across different model years and manufacturers.

Sales Breakdown by Model Year

The report showed that the newest model years dominated the market, with 13,117 cars registered from model year 2026, followed by 5,781 units from model year 2027. Older models accounted for smaller shares, including 1,235 cars from 2025, 582 from 2024, and just 429 from 2023. Compared to May, the distribution shifted notably: while model 2026 registrations dropped from 15,487 in May to 13,117 in June, model 2027 saw a significant increase from 3,150 to 5,781 units, reflecting a trend toward newer inventory.

Top-Selling Companies Ranking

Nissan led the ranking with 2,099 cars sold, ahead of Chery which recorded 1,443 units, and Hyundai in third place with 1,332 vehicles. Jetour also posted strong results with 1,198 units, followed by MG with 1,191, and Soueast with 1,129 cars. Rounding out the top ten were Kia with 881 units, Chevrolet with 801, Mercedes with 721, and Toyota with 700.

Positions eleven through fifteen included Changan at 693 cars, Geely at 692, Skoda at 656, Volkswagen at 567, and Renault at 525 units. These numbers highlight the diversity of brands operating in Egypt, with Asian manufacturers dominating the higher ranks.

Best-Selling Models in June

The report also highlighted the most popular individual models. The Nissan Sunny topped the list with 1,748 units sold, far ahead of its closest competitor. The Chevrolet Optra came second with 731 units, followed by the Soueast S05 with 654. The Hyundai Elantra recorded 594 sales, while the MG ZS reached 472 units. Further down the list, the Chery Arrizo 5 sold 325 units, the Jetour X70 Plus registered 228, and the Kia Seltos concluded with 90 cars. These results confirm the strong demand for affordable and practical models in the Egyptian market.
