116,696 vehicles. That's the total sales volume for Egypt's automotive market in the first seven months of 2026 — a 39.5% jump year-on-year. The figures come from Focus2move, the US research firm specializing in global automotive market analysis, which tracked the performance of the top 20 brands in the Egyptian market.

Changan and Haval Lead the Surge

Changan topped the growth chart with a staggering 308.3% increase, signaling a major shift in Egypt's competitive landscape. Haval followed at 184.2%, then King Long at 126.8%, and Jetour at 124.4%. Chinese brands are rewriting the rules.

Legacy Brands Bounce Back

Growth wasn't limited to Chinese marques. Volkswagen surged 107.8%, while Toyota climbed 77.1%. Citroen posted 86.5% growth, Suzuki hit 63%, and Nissan rose 41%. Chevrolet added 30%.

Hyundai and Kia Lose Momentum

Has the Korean era peaked? Hyundai managed just 0.4% growth, and Kia 6.8% — far below the market average of 39.5%. For context, the Egyptian market sold 172,386 cars in 2025, up 78.3% from 2024. The recovery is real, but uneven.

EVs Explode with 405% Growth

405% growth in electric vehicle sales during the first seven months of 2026. The number is massive. Egypt's EV sector is undergoing a radical transformation, driven by improved model availability and expanding charging networks, despite lingering infrastructure challenges.
