Official: Toll Fees Raised on Wadi El Natrun–El Alamein Road
Egypt's Official Gazette announced higher toll fees on the Wadi El Natrun–El Alamein road. Private car and microbus fees rose from 10 EGP to 20 EGP, while bus fees went from 20 EGP to 30 EGP. Monthly subscriptions now cost 500 EGP for private cars, 1,200 EGP for microbuses, and 1,600 EGP for buses. Quarterly rates were set at 1,300 EGP, 3,200 EGP, and 4,300 EGP respectively.
Egypt has officially raised toll fees on the Wadi El Natrun–El Alamein road, with the new rates published in the Official Gazette. Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir approved the increase at the collection station, pushing private car fees from 10 EGP to 20 EGP.
What Changed at the Wadi El Natrun–El Alamein Toll Station
The numbers are straightforward. Microbus fees climbed from 10 EGP to 20 EGP, while bus tolls jumped from 20 EGP to 30 EGP at the same collection point. This road connects the Delta region to the North Coast, making it a critical artery for daily commuters and commercial transport alike.
Monthly and Quarterly Subscription Rates After the Update
Did subscriptions change too? Yes. A monthly private car subscription now costs 500 EGP, microbuses pay 1,200 EGP, and buses are set at 1,600 EGP. For the quarterly plan, private cars pay 1,300 EGP, microbuses 3,200 EGP, and buses 4,300 EGP.
What This Means for Drivers on the Route
On Egypt's highways, drivers look for the fastest route at the lowest possible cost. The toll increase on this road may push Hyundai and Kia owners to recalculate their monthly expenses, especially those who use the route daily. Both brands dominate the microbus segment, meaning the impact reaches a wide base of drivers.
The decision was based on the Official Gazette publication and falls under Egypt's ongoing road modernization and service improvement policy. Toll collection takes effect immediately at the station, and both monthly and quarterly subscriptions have been repriced. For daily commuters on this route, the question now is whether the faster connection justifies the higher cost.
