Suzuki Alto Returns to Egypt with Manual Transmission Launch Imminent
Modern Motors, the official distributor of Suzuki in Egypt, is preparing to launch the new generation of the Suzuki Alto equipped with a manual transmission in the coming days. This move aims to strengthen the brand's presence in the economy car segment, which is witnessing rising competition as customers increasingly seek affordable and fuel-efficient vehicles.
Dimensions and Design of the New Suzuki Alto
The new Suzuki Alto features a compact five-door hatchback design, with a length of 3530 mm, a width of 1490 mm, and a height of 1520 mm, while the wheelbase extends to 2380 mm. Luggage capacity stands at 214 liters, and the fuel tank holds 27 liters, making it well-suited for daily urban driving.
Powertrain and Performance
The car is powered by a three-cylinder 998 cc petrol engine from the DualJet family, producing 67 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 89 Nm of torque at 3500 rpm. The engine utilizes Multi-Point Injection and is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that drives the front wheels, aiming to deliver an optimal balance between economical performance and low fuel consumption.
Exterior and Interior Features
The Alto adopts a simple exterior design fitting its economy-class nature, including halogen multi-reflector headlights with daytime running lights, body-colored bumpers, a black front grille, manually adjustable side mirrors, two-speed front wipers, and 13-inch steel wheels. Inside, the cabin features a three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, a multi-information display showing trip data and average fuel consumption, manual air conditioning, front power windows, central locking with remote, a 12V power outlet, two front speakers, and the option to equip a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity depending on the trim level.
Safety Equipment
The Suzuki Alto comes with a set of safety features including dual front airbags for the driver and front passenger, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to prevent wheel lock-up during sudden braking, rear parking sensors, and ISOFIX child seat anchors for enhanced child passenger safety. The vehicle is expected to attract widespread interest among buyers looking for a reliable and low-cost economy car, especially given the intense competition in this segment of the Egyptian market.
