South Korean Car Registrations Hit 13,500 in Egypt During H1 2026
According to a report issued by the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool, total registrations of South Korean cars in the Egyptian market during the first six months of this year reached 13,572 vehicles. This figure highlights the sustained demand for Korean automobiles in Egypt, which continue to strengthen their presence thanks to a diverse range of models and competitive pricing strategies.
Hyundai Leads the Pack, Kia Follows
Hyundai topped the list of the most registered Korean brands in Egypt between January and June, recording approximately 7,914 units. Kia secured the second position with a total of 4,933 vehicles, underscoring the strong competition between the two largest Korean manufacturers in the Egyptian market. The registered vehicles included popular sedans such as the Hyundai Elantra and Kia Cerato, as well as SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage, all of which enjoy significant demand in Egypt.
KG Mobility Makes Its Mark
KG Mobility claimed the third spot among Korean car registrations in Egypt, with 725 vehicles registered during the period. This figure reflects growing interest in the relatively new brand in the market, which offers models like the KG Mobility Torres, a mid-size SUV that combines modern design with competitive pricing. The data shows that total registrations for the three Korean brands reached 13,572 units, representing a notable market share in Egypt's automotive sector.
Market Analysis and Outlook
The registration figures indicate continued consumer preference for Korean cars in Egypt, driven by build quality, availability of spare parts, and widespread service networks. Hyundai and Kia are expected to maintain their strong positions with new and updated model launches, while KG Mobility aims to increase its share through expanded distribution networks. This performance comes amid economic challenges including exchange rate fluctuations and rising import costs, making Korean cars an attractive choice for buyers seeking a balance between price and reliability.
