Soueast Cars Receive Energy Efficiency and Emissions Rating Card in Egypt
The announcement is official. Soueast vehicles have obtained the energy consumption efficiency and emissions rate card issued by the Egyptian Organization for Standards and Quality, making the brand one of the first in the Egyptian market to receive this certification for its vehicles. Man East, the company owned by the Mansour family and the exclusive agent for Soueast in Egypt, revealed the news in a move aimed at boosting transparency.
Handover Ceremony Details
The handover took place at the headquarters of the Egyptian Organization for Standards and Quality, where Mahmoud Gamal, CEO of Man East, received the card from Minister of Industry Khaled Hashim. The card follows the Egyptian and European standard specification for evaluating energy efficiency in new M1 category vehicles, which includes criteria for measuring fuel consumption, emissions, and driving range.
These standards compare vehicle performance against specified limits. The M1 category covers light passenger vehicles designed for transporting people — the most common segment across the Egyptian automotive landscape.
What Does This Mean for Buyers?
The card provides unified data on vehicle performance regarding fuel or energy consumption and emission rates. The goal is straightforward: allowing consumers to make clearer comparisons between different models before finalizing their purchase decisions.
The numbers speak for themselves. This initiative encourages customers to choose vehicles with higher efficiency and lower emission levels, which could contribute to reduced fuel consumption, lower operating costs over time, and a smaller environmental footprint from vehicles on Egyptian roads.
Man East's Position
Man East confirmed that Soueast vehicles receiving this card reflects the brand's commitment to offering cars compliant with Egyptian standard specifications. The focus is on combining quality, safety, modern technology, and energy efficiency all at once.
Mahmoud Gamal commented that the company takes pride in Soueast being among the first car brands in Egypt to secure this card, aligning with the broader direction of providing clear data that helps customers make more informed purchasing decisions. Soueast prices in the Egyptian market will now be backed by a documented environmental performance indicator.
