Slight Increase in Private Car Registrations in Egypt During June
The Egyptian private car market recorded a slight increase in registration activity during June, according to the latest report issued by the Egyptian Motor Vehicle Insurance Pool. A total of 21,144 private cars obtained compulsory insurance certificates and were officially registered, marking a modest rise of 1.13% compared to the previous month of May.
Newer Model Years Dominate Registration Volumes
The report highlights that 2026 model-year cars accounted for the largest share of total registrations, with 13,117 vehicles, followed by 2027 model-year cars totaling 5,781 vehicles. This trend underscores the continued preference among Egyptian buyers for the newest available models, driven by the steady launch of fresh variants across various price segments and brands operating in the local market.
Breakdown by Model Year
Data also revealed that 1,235 cars from the 2025 model year were registered, alongside 582 units from 2024, while only 429 vehicles from the 2023 model year received registration documents. These figures confirm that the vast majority of cars currently being registered belong to recent production years, reflecting the ongoing momentum of new model introductions and consumer appetite for the latest offerings.
The numbers indicate sustained relative activity in Egypt's private car registration market, with newer models continuing to dominate the landscape. This pattern is fueled by both the release of advanced vehicles and growing buyer interest in modern features and enhanced safety technologies. Such trends provide valuable insight into demand dynamics for the Egyptian automotive sector in the coming months.
