Removing Obstacles on Al-Wahat Road in 6th of October Restores Full Traffic Flow

Egypt's Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities intensified its efforts during July 2026 to improve road conditions and enhance traffic safety in new cities. The move came as part of the ministry's 'Rapid Response System', addressing numerous complaints affecting vehicle movement and road user safety.

Engineer Randa El-Menashawy, the Minister of Housing, reviewed the system's July report, which highlighted key field operations handling complaints circulated on social media platforms, coordinated with city agencies and relevant authorities. The numbers show the scale of work accomplished.

Interventions to Improve Vehicle Traffic in New Cities

In 6th of October City, specialized agencies responded to a complaint about barriers and encroachments on the slow road parallel to Al-Wahat Road. The obstacles were removed, and the road was reopened to traffic, supporting vehicle flow and ensuring safe road usage.

Meanwhile, 10th of Ramadan City witnessed an urgent intervention to improve road safety factors. One of the artificial speed bumps was repainted, and necessary warning signs and boards were installed. These measures help alert drivers and reduce accident risks, especially given varying visibility conditions while driving.

The city of Badr also saw intensified road development works and debris removal from the Distinguished District, along with legal action against violations. This contributes to maintaining road efficiency and improving the surrounding environment.

Rapid Response to Road Complaints

The Rapid Response System relies on monitoring social media posts and addressing complaints on the ground, with follow-up until the problem is fully resolved. The responses included removing encroachments in several areas across new cities, alongside cleanliness and road maintenance work, reducing obstacles that could affect vehicle and pedestrian movement.

El-Menashawy emphasized that rapid response to road-related complaints forms a crucial part of the ministry's efforts to improve quality of life in new cities and raise safety levels for both drivers and pedestrians. Implementation continues until all reported issues are resolved.
