Port Said Customs Auction Raises EGP 49.5 Million from 74 Cars

The General Authority for Government Services in Egypt has announced the results of the Port Said Customs auction, held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Al-Hadarat Sports Club hall on Salah Salem Street. The auction generated EGP 49,563,000 from selling 74 car lots out of 98 on offer.

Surprising results. Most lots found buyers, while 23 were rejected and one was confiscated. This auction represents a key step in clearing abandoned and damaged vehicles stored in customs yards at Port Said port, following presidential directives to monitor containers and idle goods across all Egyptian ports on a daily basis.

The lots included a wide range of used cars from global brands. Among them were Hyundai Avante and Tucson, and Kia K3, Morning Picanto, Forte Cerato, Soul, and Sorento. Also present were Daewoo Lacetti, Chevrolet Trax, Mini Cooper, Toyota Yaris, Mercedes, Skoda Octavia, and Honda motorcycles.

The local market is watching closely. This variety offers buyers a chance to acquire vehicles at competitive prices, especially given the growing interest in such public auctions.
