Partial Closure on July 26 Axis Extension for 5 Weeks Due to Monorail Works

The Giza Governorate has announced a partial closure on the July 26 Axis extension road, specifically in the direction coming from Gihana Square in front of Hyper One Mall in 6th of October City. The closure will begin on Friday, August 21, 2026. Will last every Friday and Saturday for 5 consecutive weeks until September 19, 2026. The works are part of the monorail project for the Wadi El Nile – 6th of October line, executed by the National Authority for Tunnels.

Stages of the Partial Closure

The governorate detailed that the partial closure is divided into 5 stages, each lasting just two days (Friday and Saturday) every week, from 1:00 AM to 5:00 AM. Stage one runs on August 21-22, stage two on August 28-29, stage three on September 4-5, stage four on September 11-12. The final stage on September 18-19. The schedule is strict and clear for drivers.

During these windows, the National Authority for Tunnels will carry out the installation of electrical panels for the Hyper One monorail station, a delicate operation that requires a partial road closure to ensure the safety of workers and the smooth execution of the project.

The Giza Governorate confirmed that the contractor is committed to keeping at least one traffic lane open for vehicles at all times during the works.
