Official: Omoda and Jaecoo Enter the Egyptian Market for the First Time

Al-Arabi Al-Sweedy for Investment (ESI) is preparing for the official first unveiling of Omoda and Jaecoo cars in the Egyptian market, during a press conference scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th, at a major hotel in Cairo. Representatives from both brands and the group will attend, amid widespread anticipation among car enthusiasts in Egypt. The conference will showcase the locally available models for the first time.

The conference will display the models slated for local launch, highlighting key specifications, features, and adopted technologies. The event will also reveal the brands' market presence plans and the segments each will compete in. The difference between the two brands is significant despite sharing the same parent group.

Both Omoda and Jaecoo belong to China's Chery Group, developed specifically for export markets. Omoda focuses on modern design and advanced technology, while Jaecoo offers SUVs with a more luxurious character and capabilities suitable for various road types. This diversity gives the group broad coverage across multiple market segments.

Omoda's Global Lineup

Omoda's lineup includes several models in the crossover and sedan categories, with petrol and fully electric versions. The standout is the Omoda C5, a compact crossover with a 1.6-liter turbo petrol engine producing around 197 horsepower, linked to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

The Omoda E5 is the fully electric version of the C5, with an electric motor delivering up to 204 horsepower and a battery offering a driving range exceeding 400 kilometers. Completing the lineup is the Omoda O5, a compact sedan with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine or turbo variants depending on the trim and market.

What Jaecoo Offers Globally
