The General Administration of Cairo Traffic has announced a complete closure of the Baghous Bridge ramp towards the Mahshah area, as part of routine maintenance work on the 6th of October Bridge. The closure begins today and will last for 15 consecutive nights, six hours each night from midnight to 6 AM, ending on July 1st.

Closure Details and Maintenance Objectives

This closure is part of ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade the 6th of October Bridge, one of the most vital traffic arteries in Greater Cairo. The work includes welding operations on metal bearings, which requires a full ramp closure during nighttime hours to minimize disruption to daytime traffic flow.

Traffic Diversions and Services

The Cairo Traffic Administration has deployed necessary traffic services at the closure site to manage any expected congestion. Vehicles have been directed to continue driving towards the 6th of October Bridge above the Mahshah area during the work. Authorities have also emphasized the need for vehicle calming measures on the 6th of October Bridge above the Mahshah Bridge to ensure worker and vehicle safety during welding operations.

Motorists are urged to follow the designated detours and road signs placed in the area, and to plan their trips in advance to avoid delays. Drivers are also asked to cooperate with traffic police stationed at the site to facilitate smooth traffic flow and prevent bottlenecks.

The 6th of October Bridge is a critical link between eastern and western Cairo, carrying heavy traffic during peak hours. These measures are part of a broader plan to upgrade Egypt's road and bridge infrastructure, aiming to improve traffic safety and reduce accidents.
