Mohamed Abdel Samad, Managing Director and CEO of Nissan Egypt and Africa, sent a clear message to consumers looking to buy the new "Magnite" crossover. The message warns against yielding to dealers who demand extra payments for immediate delivery.

A Firm Official Stance

In statements to the "Arabity" program on Radio Egypt, Abdel Samad confirmed that all locally assembled Nissan vehicles are available at official prices through authorized dealers and showrooms. He also cautioned buyers against purchasing any car above the announced official prices.

The company is working to supply large quantities of the Nissan Magnite to all authorized showrooms in the coming days. Production has already started in limited numbers, with plans to gradually increase capacity to meet the growing demand in the Egyptian market.

The Overprice Phenomenon Escalates

The Magnite witnessed unofficial price hikes by some dealers less than 48 hours after its launch, with "overprice" reaching nearly EGP 70,000 above the official prices set by the local agent. These increases coincided with strong demand for the vehicle, which is the latest Nissan model in the compact SUV segment, especially with local assembly and competitive pricing.

Nissan Africa's head confirmed that the Magnite has achieved demand rates exceeding company expectations since its official launch. He believes increasing output will eliminate supply shortages and reduce opportunities for the "overprice" phenomenon, which should restore market balance.

The Nissan Magnite is available in the Egyptian market in four trim levels, with the first starting at a competitive price compared to direct rivals. With the company's commitment to raising production, the question remains: will these practices end soon?
