Nissan Tops Japan's Most Registered Cars in Egypt During First 5 Months of 2026
The Egyptian automotive market witnessed a clear dominance of Japanese brands during the first five months of 2026, with Nissan leading the list of the most registered cars by a significant margin. According to the latest data from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool, Nissan recorded approximately 12,814 vehicles between January and May 2026, reflecting sustained strong demand for its models in the local market.
Toyota and Mitsubishi Follow Behind
In second place, Toyota registered a total of 3,742 cars, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most trusted Japanese brands among Egyptian consumers. Mitsubishi came in third with 1,849 vehicles, confirming its ongoing popularity, particularly in the practical multi-purpose vehicle segment.
Suzuki and Honda Close the Ranking
The fourth spot went to Suzuki, which recorded 1,499 vehicles during the same period, supported by its economical models that appeal to a broad range of buyers. In fifth and last place on the list, Honda registered only 381 cars, indicating challenges the brand faces in regaining market share against other Japanese competitors.
These figures highlight the competitive landscape of the Japanese car market in Egypt, where Nissan remains the most widespread choice, while Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Suzuki continue to compete strongly in different segments. It is worth noting that the data is based on registration statistics from traffic departments across the country, making it an accurate indicator of actual market movement.
