Nissan Magnite Launched in Egypt: 5 Rivals That Compete for the Same Buyers
The locally assembled Nissan Magnite has entered Egypt's compact SUV segment, where it faces tough competition from several models that sit close in price and specs. Production takes place at the company's factory in 6th of October City, with local content exceeding 55%. Power comes from a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 99 horsepower and 152 Nm of torque, mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. Fuel economy stands at 17.9 km per liter.
Pricing and the Competitive Landscape
The Magnite is offered in four trim levels, with official prices ranging from EGP 788,000 to EGP 888,000. That positioning puts it right in the middle of a price band crowded with alternatives that promise different strengths. Buyers in this segment tend to compare every single detail before making a decision.
Geely GX3 Pro 2026 is one of the first direct rivals, sold in a single trim at EGP 790,000. It uses a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine generating 102 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque, paired with an automatic gearbox. The price difference is minimal, yet that small gap can be the deciding factor for many shoppers.
JAC JS2 also enters the mix with one trim level priced at EGP 800,000. Its 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 113 horsepower and 146 Nm, mated to an automatic transmission. These numbers give it more punch than the Magnite on paper, but real-world efficiency remains a matter of driving habits.
More Choices in the Same Segment
Baic X35 is listed at EGP 899,000, making it the most expensive option among the group. It packs a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine producing 147 horsepower and 210 Nm, with a CVT automatic gearbox. That output is the highest here. That appeals to those who prioritize performance despite the higher sticker price.
Renault Kardian 2026 completes the list, though full specifications and pricing have yet to be officially announced. The French model has a strong local presence through its dealer network. After-sales support matters just as much as the car itself. Its arrival will add another layer of competition to this already intense segment.
Choosing between these crossovers is never straightforward on paper alone. Real-world testing, dealer reputation, and ownership costs over time often tip the balance. The Egyptian market rewards those who research deeply. There is no shortage of options here to keep any buyer busy.
