The latest monthly report issued by the Egyptian Compulsory Motor Insurance Pool on mandatory vehicle insurance and zero-kilometer vehicle registrations highlighted continued activity across Egypt's automotive market during June. According to the report, a total of 70,497 new vehicles received compulsory insurance certificates and were licensed during the month, reflecting the overall volume of newly registered vehicles.

Registration Breakdown by Model Year

The report showed that 2026 model-year vehicles accounted for the largest share of registrations, reaching a total of 49,261 vehicles. They were followed by 2025 models with 9,714 registered vehicles, while 2027 models recorded 8,737 registrations, illustrating the distribution of newly licensed vehicles across different model years during the reporting period.

Passenger Cars, Motorcycles and Commercial Vehicles

Within the passenger car segment, the report stated that 18,898 passenger cars received compulsory insurance certificates and new registrations. This total included 13,117 vehicles from the 2026 model year and 5,781 vehicles from the 2027 model year, making passenger cars one of the most active categories in June's registration figures.

Motorcycle registrations continued to be dominated by 2026 models, which totaled 33,566 units during the month. By comparison, only one motorcycle from the 2027 model year was licensed over the same period, highlighting the significant difference in registration volumes between the two model years.

For commercial vehicles, the report recorded a total of 3,178 newly licensed trucks. Of these, 2,259 units were from the 2027 model year, while 919 vehicles were 2026 models, providing a clear breakdown of new commercial vehicle registrations based on model year as reported in the monthly figures.
