Morning Traffic Congestion Hits Several Axes in Cairo and Giza as Traffic Services Deployed

Cairo and Giza witnessed scattered traffic congestion this morning during peak hours, as traffic services were widely deployed to ensure citizen safety, facilitate vehicle movement, and guide drivers to alternative routes to ease the gridlock.

Traffic Situation in Cairo

The Traffic Operations Room reported heavy traffic volumes on October Bridge in both directions, prompting authorities to recommend using the ground-level road as an alternative. High congestion was also recorded on the Ring Road for those coming from Maadi toward Moneeb, as well as on the Autostrad Road. Notable density was observed on Salah Salem Street for drivers coming from Al-Rahman Al-Raheem Mosque toward the Military Academy.

Traffic congestion extended to Nasr City, New Cairo, Ain Shams, Ghamra, and Ramses, including its intersection with Al-Galaa Street, as well as from Al-Qalaa to Fostat. Vehicle speeds dropped on the Autostrad from Moneeb to Al-Basatin, on the Nile Corniche in Maadi up to the Ring Road, and on Qasr Al-Aini Street. The Ring Road toward Katameya for the central plateau witnessed heavy traffic, while Al-Marg Ring Road saw significant congestion for those coming from the agricultural road toward the Salam Tunnel and inside the tunnel for those arriving from the governorates to Cairo.

Intermittent congestion also appeared on 90th Street in the Fifth Settlement for drivers coming from the Ring Road toward Downtown, as well as on Abbas Bridge and University Bridge toward Al-Misaha Square.

Traffic Situation in Giza

In Giza, moving traffic congestion was recorded on the governorate's streets, with high density on Al-Haram Street due to construction work at its intersection with Al-Maryoutiya. Scattered congestion spread across Al-Bahr Al-Azam and Al-Nil Al-Seyahi axes, as well as on the Ring Road descent toward Upper Egypt, Warraq, and Al-Maryoutiya, along with Faisal Street in the Tawabeq area.

Congestion also affected Sudan Street up to Cairo University, extending to Bulaq and Imbaba, alongside heavy traffic on July 26 Axis. Traffic services intensified their efforts to manage the flow and guide drivers to alternative routes to relieve pressure on major axes.
