Mobil Oil Prices in Egypt Rise by Up to EGP 4,860
ExxonMobil Egypt has applied a new price list for Mobil oils in Egypt effective November 3, 2026, with increases ranging from EGP 10 to EGP 4,860. The hike covers petrol and diesel engine oils plus hydraulic lubricants, with prices starting at EGP 210 for a one-litre HD 50 bottle and reaching EGP 102,025 for a Delvac SHC-1 barrel. The decision raises routine maintenance costs for Egyptian consumers.
ExxonMobil Egypt has applied a new price list for engine oils and lubricants starting Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with increases ranging from EGP 10 to EGP 4,860 on several products for petrol and diesel engines, as well as hydraulic oils and greases. The company notified its distributor network of the new consumer prices just days before implementation. The numbers are stark.
Petrol Engine Oil Prices After the Increase
Petrol engine oil prices now start at EGP 210 for a one-litre HD 50 bottle, while a 208-litre barrel of Mobil Special 20W50 reaches EGP 45,720. A one-litre pack of Mobil 5W30/5W40 is priced at EGP 800, the four-litre pack at EGP 2,950. The four-litre Mobil 0W20 at EGP 3,140. These figures add fresh pressure on routine maintenance budgets for Egyptian drivers.
Diesel and Hydraulic Oils: Record Figures
Diesel engine oil prices begin at EGP 255 for a one-litre bottle of Mobil Delvac Legend 1350, while a 208-litre barrel of Mobil Delvac SHC-1 5W40 is set at EGP 102,025. The five-litre Mobil Delvac 5W40 SHC pack costs EGP 2,540. The 20-litre jerrycan is priced at EGP 9,900. Mobil Coolant 33% starts at EGP 195 per litre. A 208-litre barrel of Mobil BHD in all viscosity grades reaches EGP 56,585 — numbers that put clear pressure on workshops and service centres.
What This Means for Car Owners
Oil price hikes of this scale raise the cost of periodic servicing, a core expense for any car owner, especially as oil-change seasons approach. But the bigger question: will rival brands follow suit? Egypt's engine oil market is highly competitive across several brands. Any new increase could reshape consumer choices.
Alternative Options for Consumers
With these increases, many owners are looking for alternatives that protect engine performance without a steep price. Oils such as Mobil 10W40 Synthetic technology at EGP 460 per litre, or EGP 1,700 for the four-litre pack, remain a popular choice for petrol engines. Diesel oils start at EGP 255 for a one-litre Delvac Legend 1350 bottle, EGP 935 for four litres. EGP 1,140 for five litres — prices that may push some to delay servicing or downsize their purchase.
Context and Implications
The increase lands at a sensitive time, with repeated movements in spare parts and maintenance material prices across Egypt. ExxonMobil, the global maker of Mobil oils, raised consumer prices through its distributors days after notification, without disclosing official reasons. Distributors have already applied the new prices on shelves, meaning consumers will notice the difference from the first purchase. The move could open new comparisons between brands in the local lubricants market.
