Mercedes Leads European Car Registrations in Egypt Over 7 Months

Mercedes topped the list of the most registered European car brands in Egypt during the first 7 months of the year, recording 5,325 vehicles. The figure highlights a clear edge in a market facing stiff competition from direct rivals, according to the latest report from the Egyptian Motor Insurance Bureau.

European Brand Rankings in the Egyptian Market

The gap between the leader and its closest contender isn't huge. Skoda secured second place with 4,847 registered cars between January and the end of July 2026, while Volkswagen came third with 4,248 units. The scene confirms that the market is moving at a close pace among major European brands in the new car segment.

Renault ranked fourth with a total of 3,981 cars, followed by Peugeot in fifth with 3,171 vehicles, then Cupra in sixth with 2,388 units. The list points to a diverse range of options available to Egyptian consumers from European models, which explains the sustained demand for these cars despite price fluctuations.

Unexpected Strong Positions

Citroen landed in seventh place with 1,986 cars, followed by BMW in eighth with approximately 1,758 units. The numbers show that the premium segment keeps a strong presence in Egypt's registration market, even though its prices exceed most competitors in the same class.

Seat took ninth place after recording 1,557 cars, while Fiat came tenth with 1,440 units. The list also included Opel in eleventh with 1,291 cars, followed by Audi in twelfth with 1,131 vehicles, and finally Volvo in thirteenth with 430 registered cars during the same period.

The numbers reveal a clear trend toward European brands with a solid reputation. The Egyptian market still prioritizes quality and performance confidence. That explains Mercedes leading the list despite fierce competition. The coming period may see shifts in the rankings as new models enter and different brands expand their plans.
