Development work at the Gedeila bus station in Mansoura is progressing steadily, with construction reaching 22% completion. The ambitious project aims to transform the existing station into a fully integrated transport terminal at a total cost of 48.05 million Egyptian pounds. Once completed, the facility will serve 10 internal bus lines with a daily capacity of 205 vehicles, significantly improving public transport organization and traffic flow in one of the city's busiest areas.

Specifications and Operational Capacity

The project occupies an area of approximately 7,385 square meters and is designed to reorganize vehicle movement while reducing traffic congestion. According to approved traffic studies, the new terminal will operate 10 internal lines with a daily capacity of 205 vehicles, including 185 microbuses and 20 service cars. The design incorporates organized entry and exit routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and enhance mobility in surrounding neighborhoods.

Infrastructure and Development Works

Development works include constructing organized perimeter walls and installing 5 main gates to control vehicle movement. The project also features metal canopies for parking areas, providing a safer and more organized operational environment for both drivers and passengers. These improvements align with broader plans to upgrade the internal transport infrastructure in Mansoura.

Service Buildings and Support Facilities

The project includes a fully equipped service building featuring restrooms, security and monitoring rooms, fire pumps, and advanced civil protection networks. Additionally, modern waiting areas for citizens will be established, along with spaces for cafeterias and other support services. These amenities aim to enhance the user experience and elevate the quality of services provided to the public.

Timeline and Expected Impact

The project is scheduled for completion within 12 months, after which it will become one of the largest modern transport terminals in Mansoura.
