Injury Compensation Rights After Kafr El Sheikh Van Rollover: Up to EGP 100,000 Payouts
A tragic accident on the coastal international road in Kafr El Sheikh governorate has left 16 workers injured after a pickup van overturned near Ibrahim El Desouki village in the Matoubas district. The workers were on their way to agricultural fields when the incident occurred, reigniting public awareness about the legal rights of road accident victims and the mechanisms for claiming compensation.
Mandatory Insurance and Compensation
The Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool (ECIP) has confirmed its role as the entity responsible for disbursing compensation resulting from accidents covered under the mandatory vehicle insurance system. The pool monitors accident developments, maintains communication with victims and their families, and provides the necessary facilitation to ensure swift processing of claims.
Compensation Values Under the Law
The compulsory vehicle insurance policy stipulates that compensation of up to EGP 100,000 is paid in cases of death resulting from traffic accidents. For injuries, the compensation amount is determined based on the percentage of permanent disability assessed by the competent medical committee, in accordance with legal provisions.
How to Apply for Compensation
ECIP stated that victims or their families can visit its headquarters or any of its branches to submit the required documents and initiate the compensation process. The pool emphasized its commitment to simplifying procedures and accelerating the delivery of rightful entitlements to beneficiaries.
