GB Auto, the exclusive distributor of the Chery-owned electric brand iCAUR in Egypt, has officially launched the all-new iCAUR V27 in two trim levels. This marks the brand's debut model in the local market, belonging to the extended-range electric vehicle (REEV) category. Pricing starts at EGP 1,900,000 for the base trim, while the higher-spec version commands EGP 2,150,000.
iCAUR V27 2027 Trims and Pricing in Egypt
The entry-level trim, called Play, features a rear-wheel-drive layout. The range-topping Wild trim, But comes equipped with an intelligent all-wheel-drive system (i-AWD). The price gap between both versions stands at EGP 250,000, reflecting the significant technical and equipment differences offered by the Wild variant.
Chery's strategic move targets buyers seeking a practical electric vehicle with exceptional driving range. The claimed total range reaches 1,000 kilometers under the NEDC cycle, achieved with a fully charged battery and a full fuel tank. This impressive figure positions the V27 as a strong contender in the Egyptian automotive landscape.
iCAUR V27 Electric Specs: Generator Engine and Boxey Design
The iCAUR V27 relies solely on electric motors to drive the wheels. A turbocharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine acts exclusively as a generator, recharging the battery when levels run low. This engine never directly powers the wheels. Owners can charge the battery externally or simply refuel the car like a conventional vehicle.
Exterior dimensions are substantial. The SUV measures 5,045 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width. 1,894 mm in height, riding on a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Cargo capacity is generous at 715 liters, offering ample space for families and road trips. The design language adopts a geometric, boxy aesthetic that gives the car a commanding road presence.
Performance and Power in Play and Wild Trims
The Play trim delivers 185 kW with 300 Nm of torque. Those figures are respectable for a rear-wheel-drive setup, but the Wild is a completely different animal. Power jumps to 335 kW, accompanied by a substantial 505 Nm of torque. Sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 5.9 seconds in the flagship trim.
Battery options include 20.47 kWh and 34 kWh packs. The iCAUR brand made its global debut in 2023 under the "Born to Play" philosophy, emphasizing freedom, adventure, technology, and modern lifestyle expression. This ethos is clearly reflected in the design and capabilities of the V27, the brand's first offering in Egypt.
Introducing an electric vehicle with a 1,000-kilometer range represents a significant leap for Egypt's green mobility sector. Competition in this segment is intensifying rapidly, and the extended range could prove decisive for potential buyers, especially given the limited fast-charging infrastructure across many regions.
