iCar V27 Officially Launches in Egypt: 1.5L Range Extender, 1000 km Range, Priced from EGP 1.9M
GB Auto has launched the all-new iCar V27 boxy SUV in Egypt with two trims, starting at EGP 1.9 million. The vehicle features a 1.5-liter range extender engine, electric drive, and up to 1000 km of combined range. It offers a 6-year/200,000 km warranty and an 8-year/160,000 km battery warranty.
GB Auto, the official distributor of the iCar brand in the Egyptian automotive market, has officially launched the all-new iCar V27 boxy SUV for the first time in Egypt. The vehicle enters the square-shaped off-road capable segment with a starting price of EGP 1.9 million for the base Play trim, while the top-spec Wild variant is priced at EGP 2.15 million. This is a bold move into a niche that has been waiting for a modern, tech-laden contender.
The headline figure is hard to ignore. The iCar V27 delivers up to 1000 km of combined range on a full charge and a full tank of fuel, a remarkable number for a range-extended electric vehicle. Under the hood sits a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that acts solely as a generator for the battery, while electric motors handle the actual driving duties. The fuel tank holds 60 liters. Cargo capacity in the rear measures 715 liters — practicality is clearly a priority here.
Performance and Powertrain Specifications for the Egyptian Market
The base Play trim produces 185 kW with 300 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. The range-topping Wild trim raises the stakes significantly, delivering 335 kW and 505 Nm, cutting the 0-100 km/h time down to just 5.9 seconds. Both versions use LFP battery chemistry — 20.47 kWh in the base model and 34.41 kWh in the Wild — with DC fast charging capable of replenishing the pack in just 30 minutes, while a standard AC charger takes between 2.7 and 3.5 hours depending on the variant.
Exterior Dimensions and Cabin Space
Dimensions underline the V27's imposing stance. The iCar V27 measures 5,045 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, and 1,894 mm in height, riding on a 2,900 mm wheelbase. Those numbers translate into generous interior space for passengers and luggage alike. GB Auto is backing the newcomer with a 6-year or 200,000 km warranty, while the battery itself carries extended coverage of 8 years or 160,000 km — a strong statement of confidence for buyers concerned about long-term EV ownership costs.
Safety and Driver Assistance Feature List
Safety equipment on the iCar V27 reads like a spec sheet from a far more expensive vehicle. Standard fitment includes 6 to 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESP), hill start and hill descent assist, electric parking brake with auto hold, and tire pressure monitoring. The driver assistance suite adds a 540-degree camera view, forward and rear collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, door opening warning, high beam assist, and driver attention monitoring. Four or six parking sensors are fitted front and rear depending on the trim, with a parking assistant rounding out the package.
Charging remains a strong selling point. The base trim needs only 2.7 hours on a slow charger, while the Wild trim takes 3.5 hours for a full top-up. Egypt's EV market is growing steadily, but the iCar V27 positions itself as something different — a versatile, rugged vehicle that blends off-road capability with a genuinely stress-free range. The boxy segment finally has a tech-forward alternative that doesn't compromise on usability. Whether it will dominate sales charts or simply carve out a loyal following remains to be seen, but the V27 has certainly grabbed everyone's attention.
