GB Auto, the official distributor of the iCar brand in the Egyptian automotive market, has officially launched the all-new iCar V27 boxy SUV for the first time in Egypt. The vehicle enters the square-shaped off-road capable segment with a starting price of EGP 1.9 million for the base Play trim, while the top-spec Wild variant is priced at EGP 2.15 million. This is a bold move into a niche that has been waiting for a modern, tech-laden contender.

The headline figure is hard to ignore. The iCar V27 delivers up to 1000 km of combined range on a full charge and a full tank of fuel, a remarkable number for a range-extended electric vehicle. Under the hood sits a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that acts solely as a generator for the battery, while electric motors handle the actual driving duties. The fuel tank holds 60 liters. Cargo capacity in the rear measures 715 liters — practicality is clearly a priority here.

The base Play trim produces 185 kW with 300 Nm of torque, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds.
