Heavy Traffic Reported on University Bridge, Ring Road and 6th of October Bridge During Morning Rush Hour

Major roads and key traffic corridors across Cairo and Giza experienced varying levels of congestion during the morning rush hour, while traffic services remained deployed to ensure road safety, regulate vehicle flow, and guide motorists toward alternative routes.

Traffic Conditions in Cairo

According to traffic operations room data, heavy traffic volumes were recorded on the 6th of October Bridge in both directions, with motorists advised to use surface roads as alternative routes. Traffic movement also slowed at the Mokattam exit toward Salah Salem and the Autostrad.

Moderate to heavy congestion was reported along Salah Salem from Al-Azhar Park to Al-Firdous Bridge, in addition to slower traffic across Nasr City, Heliopolis, Ain Shams, and Ghamra extending to Ramses Square and the Al-Galaa intersection, as well as from the Citadel to Al-Fustat.

Traffic flow was also slower on the Autostrad from El Moneeb to El Basateen. Congestion appeared along the Nile Corniche in Maadi up to the Ring Road, as well as on Qasr Al Ainy Street. The Ring Road witnessed heavy traffic heading toward Katameya and Al Hadaba Al Wosta.

The Marg Ring Road experienced significant congestion for vehicles coming from the Agricultural Road toward Al Salam Tunnel, while traffic inside the tunnel was also affected for motorists entering Cairo from other governorates. Intermittent congestion was observed on 90 Street in New Cairo for traffic moving from the Ring Road toward Downtown, while heavy traffic was recorded on Abbas Bridge and University Bridge heading toward Al Mesaha Square.

Traffic Conditions in Giza

In Giza, moving congestion was reported on Giza Street, Al Haram Street, Bahr Al Aazam, Al Nile Al Seyahi Road, and the Ring Road ramp toward Upper Egypt, Al Warraq, and Mariouteya. Traffic movement also slowed on Faisal Street in the Tawaabeq area and along Sudan Street up to Cairo University, extending toward Bulaq and Imbaba.
