Heavy Traffic Jam on October Bridge, Salah Salem, and Ring Road This Morning

Major traffic arteries in Cairo and Giza witnessed significant congestion this morning, with high-density traffic reported on key bridges and thoroughfares. Traffic police were deployed intensively to manage the flow, guide drivers toward alternative routes, and ensure road safety amid the rush hour disruptions caused by several vehicle breakdowns.

Cairo Traffic: Congestion and Breakdowns Slow Down Movement

The October Bridge experienced severe congestion in both directions, especially from the Abbaseya area heading toward Ramses, and from Tahrir toward Ramses. Meanwhile, Salah Salem Road saw heavy traffic in front of the Abour Buildings, the War College, and for vehicles coming from Al Rahman Al Rahim Mosque heading toward Al Orouba Street, due to multiple car breakdowns that reduced road capacity.

Vehicle Breakdowns Across Multiple Locations

On the Autostrad Road, breakdowns were reported in the Bayn El Gabalayn area and beneath the Tunis Bridge, which further slowed traffic flow. The Ring Road also recorded high-density traffic for those coming from Moneeb toward Maadi and from Autostrad heading to New Cairo and the Fifth Settlement. In contrast, areas such as the Nile Corniche, Tahrir Square, Al Galaa Street, and Downtown Cairo experienced smooth traffic flow.

Giza Traffic: Relative Improvement Except at Key Junctions

In Giza Governorate, traffic conditions were largely manageable, although high-density congestion was observed at Ahmed Oraby Axis, Al Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street, Sphinx Square, and Mostafa Mahmoud Square. On the other hand, vehicular movement stabilized across several major corridors, including Al Haram, Faisal, the May 15 Bridge, the Nile Corniche, and Al Bahr Al Aazam, as well as in the districts of October City and Sheikh Zayed City.
