Green Incentive to Revive the Car Market Soon with Low-Cost Financing and Flexible Payment Plans
The Ministry of Industry is preparing to launch the "Green Incentive," a step aimed at revitalizing the car market and facilitating the ownership of new cars through affordable financing programs, supporting the state's plans to develop the sector and increase sales rates. This program comes at a time when the Egyptian market faces multiple economic challenges, making it a strong boost for a sector that has seen declining demand recently.
Details of the Green Incentive and Financing Mechanisms
Engineer Alaa Salah El-Din, Head of the Automotive Industry Unit at the Ministry of Industry, stated during an interview on the "Arabity" program on Radio Egypt that the new incentive will come into effect soon and will include banking facilities with low interest rates, reducing the cost of financing for buyers and facilitating the payment of car installments. He added that the program will focus on offering loans at competitive interest rates with flexible repayment periods extending up to several years, making it accessible to a wide range of citizens.
Impact of the Green Incentive on the Car Market
He further noted that the green incentive will have a significant impact on revitalizing the car market, increasing purchasing demand, and replacing old cars by providing more flexible financing facilities that help alleviate financial burdens on citizens. The program is expected to stimulate demand for new cars, especially given the rising car prices in recent years, which have led many consumers to postpone purchase decisions. It will also accelerate the replacement of old cars with newer ones, positively impacting the environment by reducing carbon emissions.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy adopted by the government to support Egypt's automotive sector, which is considered a vital contributor to the GDP. The strategy also includes stimulating local and foreign investment in car manufacturing, developing infrastructure for service and maintenance centers, and enhancing partnerships with global companies to localize the industry. Additional details about the green incentive, including eligibility requirements and target groups, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
