Golf Station Begins Service on Cairo Ring Road BRT Network
Egypt's Ministry of Transport has announced the launch of Golf Station as part of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project on the Greater Cairo Ring Road. The station enters service as work continues on the road's development and expansion, alongside the implementation of the 116-km BRT network.
Golf Station Now Serving New Cairo
Golf Station officially began operations on Saturday, May 16, 2026, aiming to improve mobility for residents and visitors of New Cairo, particularly in the Third Settlement area. The station is located on the Ring Road above the Golf Tunnel.
Direct Connection to Gamal Abdel Nasser Axis
The new station provides a link to the Gamal Abdel Nasser Axis extending through New Cairo. Together with El-Mosheer Tantawy Station, which entered service on March 19, it forms an extension of the project's first phase, running from the Ring Road-Alexandria Agricultural Road interchange to Police Academy Station.
BRT Network Reaches New Cairo
With both Golf Station and El-Mosheer Tantawy Station now operational, the BRT network has extended into New Cairo, providing connections to South 90 Street, the El-Mosheer Tantawy Axis, and the East Cairo Monorail through El-Mosheer Tantawy Station.
Fast, Safe and Environmentally Friendly Transport
The BRT system is designed as a fast, safe and environmentally friendly public transport solution. It supports plans to increase the use of sustainable green mass transit while helping reduce traffic congestion, lower fuel consumption, and improve travel efficiency. Dedicated BRT lanes separated from regular traffic on the Ring Road also contribute to shorter journey times and smoother passenger movement.
