After Leading EV Registrations: Geely Galaxy EX2 Becomes the Brand's Cheapest EV in Egypt
Electric vehicles have steadily strengthened their presence in the Egyptian market recently, fueled by a wave of new models and the expansion of automakers offering electric options across various price points and segments. Competition in the new EV segment is heating up.
Geely Leads Egypt's EV Registrations
The numbers tell a clear story. Geely recorded 225 newly registered electric cars in July 2026, ranking first among all brands in Egypt's EV registration figures, according to data from the Egyptian Mandatory Vehicle Insurance Company.
This milestone underscores the Chinese automaker's growing dominance in the electric segment, particularly as it introduces new models aimed at a broader consumer base—including the Galaxy EX2, a compact crossover SUV that slots into the highly popular compact utility segment.
Geely Galaxy EX2: The Most Affordable EV in the Brand's Lineup
What does the base trim offer? Abu Ghali Motors, Geely's local distributor, has priced the new Galaxy EX2 at 749,900 EGP for the PRO trim, while the range-topping MAX variant comes in at 799,900 EGP. That positioning makes it the most wallet-friendly electric Geely currently on sale in Egypt.
The move lands at a time when the local market is witnessing a notable shift toward electric mobility, with manufacturers doubling down on affordable EV offerings. Geely appears to be riding that wave effectively.
With demand for electric cars in Egypt showing no signs of slowing, the Galaxy EX2 is poised to become a key volume driver for the brand, offering a practical and affordable entry point for buyers ready to go electric.
