Geely Emgrand 2026 in Egypt: The Cheapest Chinese Car After Record Global Sales

Geely posted record global results. In Egypt, the Geely Emgrand now leads the lineup as the most affordable model. The Chinese automaker sold 1.423 million vehicles in the first half of 2026, with revenue exceeding 173.6 billion yuan. That translates to roughly 25.58 billion US dollars.

Record-Breaking First Half

These numbers didn't come out of nowhere. Global Geely sales climbed nearly 1% compared to the same period last year, while revenue jumped 15% year-on-year. The growth reflects the brand's aggressive expansion into export markets, a strategy that clearly benefits emerging regions like Egypt.

The local market sees the impact firsthand. The Emgrand family sedan, model year 2026, ranks as the cheapest car in Geely's Egyptian lineup this August. Assembly takes place locally at the Bavarian factory in 6th of October City, in partnership with the official distributor, with an annual capacity of 10,000 units.

Prices and Trims of Geely Emgrand in Egypt

The Geely Emgrand arrives in two trim levels. The base Comfort spec costs 839,000 EGP, while the higher-end Luxury trim is priced at 939,000 EGP. The price gap gives buyers clear choices between essential needs and extra comfort.

Engine and Economical Performance

Under the hood hides an engine producing 122 horsepower. Torque stands at 180 Newton-meters, which is plenty for everyday family use. But the most striking figure is fuel consumption, as the Emgrand sips just 5.82 liters per 100 km.

Competition in this segment is fierce. Models like the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and Hyundai Elantra offer alternatives, but Geely pricing puts it in a distinct position. The real question is whether this Chinese sedan can win over Egyptian families.
