The Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club has concluded the third and final training camp, "Boot Camp," as part of preparations for the launch of the DC3 Standard Car Drift Championship, held under the supervision of the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and in accordance with globally approved technical and regulatory regulations. The final camp witnessed wide participation and great enthusiasm from competitors, who underwent a preparation period spanning more than two months aimed at enhancing their readiness for the championship, which serves as a qualifying stage toward the World Drift Championship finals.

Driver Skill Development Through Training Camps

Wael Abdel Galil, Deputy General Manager of the Automobile Club and Director of Sports Activities, confirmed that the three training camps clearly contributed to improving the level of participating drivers, noting that competitors showed remarkable progress in technical and leadership skills, commensurate with the importance of the championship, which is the first of its kind globally for standard cars under the umbrella of the FIA. He added that the final date for the championship's launch will be announced in the coming days, explaining that the competitions will be held in a multi-round system, with points calculated for each competitor over the season, and the competitor with the highest score will qualify for the world finals.

Focus on Professional Driving Techniques

Shady Osama, founder of the "Old School" team and the main organizer of the championship, explained that the final training camp focused on training participants in various professional driving techniques and mechanisms for executing instructions within the full race track, in addition to applying the skills and experiences gained during the previous two camps, ensuring their readiness for official competitions. In turn, Hakam Rabie, founder of the "Mavericks" team, praised the technical level achieved by the participants, emphasizing that many of them now possess the necessary qualities to compete for the championship title and represent Egypt honorably in international forums, after successfully adopting correct driving methods and fully adhering to safety standards and professional performance.

Championship Participation Requirements

It is worth noting that the participation requirements for the championship stipulate that cars must be standard rear-wheel drive (Stock) without major modifications, with the obligation to use the original engine and transmission from the same manufacturer, and the rear tire width must not exceed 205 millimeters. The championship does not require expensive equipment, as drivers suffice with their standard cars while adhering to basic safety standards. This championship represents a qualitative leap in Egyptian motorsport, providing an opportunity for both amateur and professional drivers to showcase their skills in an organized competitive environment under international supervision.
