Over 38,000 Passenger Cars Sold in Egypt in First Quarter of 2026
A recent report from the Egyptian Automotive Information Council (AMIC) reveals a significant surge in vehicle sales across Egypt during the first quarter of 2026, with the overall market growing by 56% compared to the same period last year.
Total Vehicle Sales in Egypt
Total vehicle sales in Egypt reached 49,130 units in the first quarter of 2026, encompassing passenger cars, trucks, and buses. This marks a substantial increase from the 31,442 vehicles sold in the first quarter of 2025, indicating a strong recovery in market demand across all segments.
Passenger Cars Lead the Market
Passenger cars dominated the Egyptian vehicle market in the first quarter of 2026, recording a 60% year-on-year increase. A total of 38,461 passenger cars were sold during this period, compared to 24,111 units in the first quarter of 2025, reinforcing the segment's position as the most popular among buyers.
Bus Sales Jump 75%
Bus sales in Egypt experienced a remarkable 75% surge, with 3,504 buses sold in the first quarter of 2026, up from just 2,000 buses in the first quarter of 2025. This sharp rise highlights growing demand for public transportation solutions.
Truck Sales Also on the Rise
The truck segment followed the positive trend, with sales climbing 34% in the first quarter of 2026. A total of 7,165 trucks were sold, compared to 5,331 trucks in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting improved activity in the commercial transport and logistics sectors.
