Egypt's New Vehicle Registrations Rise 25.6% in June 2026
New vehicle registrations in Egypt recorded a notable increase during June 2026, reaching a total of 70,497 new vehicles, marking a 25.58% rise compared to May 2026, which saw 56,141 new vehicles registered, according to the latest report from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool.
Used and Customs-Cleared Vehicle Registrations
The report also revealed that 383,655 used vehicles were registered in June 2026, while customs ports recorded 23,716 customs-cleared vehicles. These figures indicate sustained activity across all vehicle segments, reflecting a robust buying and selling market during this period.
Top Registered Brands
Chevrolet reclaimed the top spot among the most registered new vehicle brands in June 2026, with 3,259 units, followed by Nissan in second place with 2,158 units, and Chery in third with 1,446 units. Hyundai came fourth with 1,332 units, followed by Jetour with 1,198 units in fifth place, while MG ranked sixth with 1,191 units. Soueast secured seventh place with 1,129 units, Toyota eighth with 1,001 units, Kia ninth with 881 units, and Mercedes-Benz tenth with 861 units.
Model Year Distribution
New vehicles from the 2026 model year dominated registrations in June 2026, totaling 49,261 units, followed by 2025 models with 9,714 units, and 2027 models with 8,737 units. Additionally, 1,727 units from 2024 and 1,058 units from 2023 were registered, showing broad coverage across different production years in the market.
Passenger Car Registrations
In the passenger car segment, Nissan maintained its dominance at the top with 2,099 cars, followed by Chery with 1,443 cars and Hyundai with 1,332 cars. Jetour ranked fourth with 1,198 cars, and MG fifth with 1,191 cars. Soueast came sixth with 1,129 cars, while Kia was seventh with 881 cars. Chevrolet slipped to eighth place with 805 cars, followed by Mercedes-Benz (721 cars), Toyota (700 cars), Changan (693 cars), Geely (692 cars), Skoda (656 cars), Volkswagen (567 cars), and Renault (525 cars).
Top-Selling Passenger Car Models
New passenger car registrations increased by 1.13% in June 2026 to reach 21,144 cars, compared to 20,908 cars in May 2026. The Nissan Sunny topped the list of most registered models with 1,748 units, followed by the Chevrolet Optra with 731 units, and the Soueast S05 with 654 units. The Hyundai Elantra ranked fourth with 594 cars, while the MG ZS took fifth place with 472 cars, underscoring sustained strong demand for these models in the Egyptian market.
