Total sales across passenger cars, buses. Commercial trucks reached 135,445 vehicles, up from 107,700 units in the same period of 2025. The figures signal a clear recovery for Egypt's car market.
Passenger cars drive the growth
The passenger car segment maintained its lead, growing 22% during the first eight months of the year. Sales hit 101,492 units, compared to 83,101 cars in the same period last year. Consumer demand keeps accelerating. The shift reflects improving purchasing power and a steady flow of new models into showrooms.
Buses post the strongest increase
Buses recorded the highest growth rate across all segments, surging over 78% year-on-year in the January-August period. Sales reached 12,101 buses, up from 6,781 units, an increase of 5,320 vehicles. This dramatic rise underscores the demand for public transport solutions.
Commercial truck sales also climbed 22.7% year-on-year to 21,852 units from January to August 2026, up from 17,812 trucks in the same period of 2025. The increase in truck sales often correlates with broader economic activity, particularly infrastructure and logistics projects. Growing demand for commercial vehicles supports this view.
