Egypt Bus Sales Surge 62% in July to 1,835 Units

Bus sales in Egypt jumped 62% in July to 1,835 units, up from 1,133 in the same month last year. The figures come from the Automobile Market Information Council (AMIC). They point to a clear recovery in the public transport sector. Toyota was among the biggest beneficiaries of this upward wave.

King Long Leads the Pack

664 units. That's the number King Long posted to top the brand rankings in July. The Chinese marque continues to dominate the mid-size bus segment thanks to competitive pricing and an expanding service network. Toyota followed in second place with 414 units, proving the Japanese brand remains a major player in this sector.

Golden Dragon and Foton Complete the Top Tier

Third place went to Golden Dragon with 376 units, reflecting growing demand for Chinese buses in the Egyptian market. Toyota held second, while Foton closed the top four with 133 vehicles. The numbers show competition is fierce among Asian players in the bus market.

Chevrolet, Suzuki, and Mercedes Follow

Just 110 vehicles. That's what Chevrolet managed to sell for fifth place, while Suzuki logged 59 units in sixth. Mercedes sold only 38 buses, a figure that confirms the German brand competes in a completely different segment in terms of pricing and usage.

The 62% growth in bus sales reflects improved activity in public transport and domestic tourism. King Long is riding this momentum, but competition with Toyota and Golden Dragon will shape the market in the coming months. Chevrolet needs a different strategy to return to the top of the leaderboard.
