Egypt's Auto Industry Takes a Leap: Nissan Magnite Achieves 55% Local Content
The local content ratio in Egypt's newest locally-made car has surpassed all expectations. Media figure Hisham El-Ziny revealed that the Nissan Magnite, produced at the Nissan Egypt plant in 6th of October City, achieved a local content ratio of 55% — the highest ever recorded by the local industry in recent times.
Industrial Breakthrough Details
The figure marks a major leap in Egyptian factories' ability to localize manufacturing. During his program "Arabaity" on Radio Masr, El-Ziny explained that this percentage confirms the existence of a strong local industrial base, and that Egyptian car plants possess significant production and export capabilities.
Increasing local content by just 1% is a monumental achievement in the automotive sector. This is due to what it entails in terms of localizing feeder industries and enhancing the efficiency of local supply chains, reflecting the success of the strategy to deepen local manufacturing.
Competition and Export Prospects
Egyptian industry is entering an entirely new phase.
This success highlights the ability of local factories to compete in both regional and global markets. The Nissan Magnite stands as a practical example of turning challenges into growth opportunities, with the potential to rely on exports as a key revenue driver.
