East Nile Monorail Begins Passenger Service Today

The first phase of the East Nile Monorail officially commenced operations today, serving passengers along the route from Al-Mushir Tantawi Station to Madinat Al-Adala Station in the New Administrative Capital. The monorail will run daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, starting Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

Key Stations on the East Nile Monorail

This phase includes 16 stations: Al-Mushir Tantawi, One Ninety, Al-Mustashfa Al-Gawwy, Al-Narges, Al-Mustathmireen, Lotus, Golden Square, Beit Al-Watan, Misr Al-Fattah Al-Aleem Mosque, District R1, District R2, Business and Finance, City of Arts and Culture, Government District, Misr Mosque, and Madinat Al-Adala in the New Administrative Capital.

Station Design and Passenger Amenities

Each station has been designed with a modern, urban aesthetic and equipped with comprehensive passenger amenities. Every station features 2 fixed staircases, 4 escalators, and 2 elevators outside, as well as 4 fixed staircases, 4 escalators, and 2 elevators inside. Dedicated pathways for people with disabilities have been implemented in ticket halls and on platforms across all stations.

This phase also enables service interchange with the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system at the City of Arts and Culture station in the New Administrative Capital, enhancing integration between modern transport modes.
