Deepal Extends Lead in Egypt's Extended-Range EV Market with 1,135 Cars Sold Since January

Deepal has tightened its grip on Egypt's extended-range electric vehicle (REEV) segment, moving 250 cars in August alone. Year-to-date volume now sits at 1,135 units, based on fresh data from the Egyptian Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance Pool. Momentum like this is hard to ignore in any market.

GB Auto Fuels the Expansion

Local distributor GB Auto holds the exclusive rights for Deepal. It has responded by launching new trims and revisiting prices across the lineup. The dealer network is expanding too, covering sales and after-sales services that matter more with every EV sold. Growth plans clearly go beyond showroom floors.

What stands out is the G318 model. That topped the brand's August sales with 131 vehicles, making it the best-selling REEV in the country for that month. The SUV relies on an extended-range powertrain producing up to 316 kW. Its electric-only range reaches roughly 963 kilometers under the NEDC standard, a figure that neutralizes range anxiety for most daily use.

Rivalry Within the Family

The S05 crossover, however, claimed third place in the monthly REEV standings with 95 deliveries. Buyers can choose between an extended-range version and a pure battery-electric variant, giving the model unusual flexibility. That duality appears to be resonating with cost-conscious customers.

Fresh Pricing and New Options

This sales push coincides with a revised price list announced by GB Auto for the entire Deepal range in Egypt. The S05 now starts at EGP 1.599 million, while the G318 is priced around EGP 2.050 million. Those figures reposition the brand firmly in the premium-lite territory of the local EV landscape.

Deepal has also introduced a new green paint option for the G318, adding another layer of personalization for buyers. The current Egyptian lineup consists of the G318, S07, and S05, spanning both BEV and REEV drivetrains. More body styles are expected to join the roster in the coming months. That could shake up the segment further.

New 3S Facility in New Cairo

GB Auto is preparing to open a fresh 3S facility for Deepal on the Ring Road in New Cairo, housing sales, service. Spare parts under one roof. Centralizing these functions tends to shorten maintenance turnaround times and boost customer confidence. As new models approach launch, the brand's infrastructure is clearly scaling up to match its ambitions.
