Major Customs Car Auction for Safaga, Nuweiba, and Al-Arish in August
The next government auction is almost here. Egypt's General Authority for Government Services is preparing a massive batch of customs-cleared cars and goods for a public auction starting August 6, sourced from Safaga, Nuweiba, and Al-Arish ports. It kicks off at exactly noon inside the Nations Sports Club hall on Salah Salem Street, opposite Ein El-Sera traffic office.
Cars on Offer: A Wide Range of Global Brands
The list features over twenty different marques. This auction isn't limited to one category — it includes sedans, pickup trucks, and even motorcycles. Among the standout names: BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi, alongside American heavyweights like GMC, Cadillac, and Hummer. Japanese brands are well-represented with Toyota, Nissan, Suzuki, and Mitsubishi. Korea arrives via Kia and Hyundai. Even Chinese maker Geely makes an appearance, plus Porsche, Infiniti, Dodge, Chrysler, and Fawkesir. The variety is significant.
Bidders have a real opportunity here. The vehicles come from various customs origins, meaning wide differences in condition, model years, and starting prices. But every potential buyer must understand the rules before stepping into the auction hall.
Entry Requirements: Deposit and Tender Document
Entry isn't free. The auction requires a security deposit of 50,000 Egyptian pounds, with 30% due immediately upon winning the bid. The remaining balance must be paid within just 15 days. That's a tight window — liquidity is key. The tender document and full specifications booklet costs 400 pounds and is available from the authority's offices in the Finance Ministry towers on Ramses Street, Building 2 specifically.
The 15-day payment term means fast action is required. The deposit itself is steep compared to smaller auctions, but it reflects the scale of goods on offer. The auction starts August 6, and preparations should begin now to avoid last-minute rushes.
