This particular unit arrived in Egypt during the sixties to serve with the police force, its color switched from brown to black to comply with official standards at the time. It carried the number 149 and patrolled the roads of Gharbia — a truly unique piece for classic car collectors in the Egyptian market.
Fast forward to the eighties, the car was sold off through a public auction held by the Ministry of Interior, landing in the hands of a food trader in Menoufia for just 1,300 EGP. Officials confirmed back then that it was in good working condition, and it subsequently passed through several owners within the province.
The Restoration Journey
Years later, the car resurfaced in a garage in Cairo, where the current owner discovered it in 2020. The full restoration process took three years, bringing it back to its original condition before it was put up for sale this year.
