Chinese Cars in Egypt: Ranking of Best-Selling Brands in May
New data from the Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance Pool has revealed the ranking of Chinese auto brands with the highest number of new (zero-kilometer) vehicle registrations in Egypt during May, with Chery leading the list by a narrow margin over its rival Jetour.
Chery Takes the Lead
Chery topped the list of Chinese car brands in Egypt with 1,525 registered vehicles in May, relying on a broad lineup that includes locally assembled models alongside imported vehicles, strengthening its position at the top of the Chinese segment in the Egyptian market.
Jetour Closes the Gap
Jetour secured second place with 1,503 vehicles—just 22 units behind Chery—reflecting the brand's strong market performance, driven by the locally assembled X70 model and high demand for models such as the Jetour T2.
Full Ranking of Chinese Brands in May
The ranking of major Chinese car brands in Egypt based on new registration data is as follows: MG came third with 1,122 vehicles, followed by Soueast in fourth with 938, Changan in fifth with 834, Geely in sixth with 508, BAIC with 372, Dongfeng with 226, GAC with 216, Kaiyi with 212, Forthing with 202, Haval with 184, JAC with 67, and Exeed with 59 vehicles.
