Chinese Cars Maintain Sales Leadership

Chinese car brands have retained their top position in the Egyptian passenger car market during the first four months of 2026. The latest official market reports reveal a robust performance, with Chinese vehicle sales surging by 54%. A total of 20,393 units were sold, compared to 13,221 vehicles during the same period last year.

Japanese Brands Secure Second Place with Strong Growth

Japanese marques claimed the second spot, demonstrating significant market momentum. Sales for Japanese cars skyrocketed by 75.3%, reaching 14,007 units, up from 7,992 vehicles recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.

European, Korean, and American Market Shares

European brands ranked third among the best-selling cars in Egypt from January through April. They recorded 6,707 units, compared to 4,547 vehicles previously, marking a solid growth rate of 47.5%. Meanwhile, Korean cars took the fourth position with a total of 5,228 units sold, down from 6,081 units, reflecting a 14% decline. American brands followed in fifth place, achieving a 27.3% growth with 2,399 vehicles sold, compared to 1,885 units in the previous year.

Indian-Origin Vehicles Show Progress

In the segment for Indian-origin cars, sales reached 457 units between January and April of the current year. This represents a notable increase compared to the 221 units sold during the same timeframe in 2025, highlighting a growing footprint for these models in the local market.
