Chinese Brands Dominate Egypt's 2025 Auto Sales: AMIC Report Reveals Market Shifts by Country of Origin
The Automotive Marketing Information Council (AMIC) has released its comprehensive 2025 report on vehicle sales in Egypt, breaking down market performance by country of origin. The data provides crucial insights into shifting consumer preferences and competitive dynamics across major automotive manufacturing regions.
Chinese Automakers Extend Market Leadership
Chinese vehicle brands have solidified their position as Egypt's top-selling automotive segment, continuing a trend that has reshaped the North African market. This dominance reflects aggressive pricing strategies, expanded dealer networks, and growing consumer acceptance of Chinese-manufactured vehicles across multiple segments.
2025 Sales Rankings by Country of Origin
According to AMIC's official figures, vehicle sales in Egypt during 2025 were distributed as follows:
Chinese cars: 50,699 units sold in 2025, representing a 67% year-over-year increase from 30,441 vehicles in 2024.
Japanese cars: Sales grew by 36%, climbing from 26,156 units in 2024 to 35,461 units in 2025.
Korean cars: Recorded 21,041 vehicles sold in 2025, up from 14,791 units in 2024, marking 42% growth.
European cars: Reached 18,638 vehicles in 2025, compared to 8,978 vehicles in 2024, posting a strong growth rate of 107%.
American cars: Sales surged by 697%, reaching 7,283 vehicles in 2025 compared to just 913 vehicles in 2024.
Indian cars: Increased from 196 vehicles in 2024 to 606 vehicles in 2025, recording significant growth in a previously niche segment.
